The place to be to get a look at the top fabricators in So-Cal! Between all the HUGE lifted trucks to the no-nonsense pre-runners there was a lot to see.

WELL we have decided to go all out on the front end meaning that we're going to fabricate the whole thing "in-house" and add fiberglass all the way around. This means that with the front end being about a foot wider than stock, we need to bring the rear width up to speed to match. Time to ditch the S-10 rear and and hunt down a Ford 9"!! So much for all of the prep work done up to this point.

So why are we going with the Ford 9" rear?

It's very strong!
If need be, an axle truss can be welded on the rear of the housing due to the lack of a differential cover (the third member takes care of this).
Parts are abundant (and slightly less $$) for the very popular for both the gearing and the disc brake conversion.
The width will match the front so that the truck will look balanced and DRIVE balanced!

In the meantime the transmission has been massaged over and fluids replaced. Having huge amounts of suspension travel surely will give the truck more potential than the semi-stock engine will live up to. Having the bearings and such replaced in the transmission was a must. The Toyota 4wd transmission is a very expensive piece indeed and an internal inspection and some maintenance done will be confidence inspiring, not to mention cheaper in the long run!
