New Double Cab Toyota Tundras Are Flying Out Of Dealerships Now...
And they look better in person.
Posted 01/09/04

The true four door Tundra is here! If the four door Tacoma sales numbers are any indication, the four door Tundra will do very well. The crew cab style trucks have been selling very quickly because of their ability to fill all the needs of a family, the new Toyota does this in stride. The Tundra might not be the most aggressive looking truck or the most powerful, but you can sure make it so. I've said here before that these trucks will be all over town soon and apparently they are. And lets not forget the reliability of Toyota products. With many full size truck consumers fed up with numerous recalls and manufacture defects, the Tundra as well as the Nissan Titan are destined to be very strong sellers in the U.S. To read more about the Tundra click here.

Most Frequently Stolen Vehicle Award Goes To...
You gotta pay to play.

According to the Highway Loss Data Institute (HLDI) the Cadillac Escalade is stolen at a rate four times higher than average. Don't expect any bargains when shopping for auto insurance with this truck in the family! Being on the top of the list for the dollar value of losses to theft, the Escalade costs insurers $167 for every Escalade on the road. The average for all cars is $15. Kim Hazelbaker, senior vice president of the HLDI said that, “The Escalade has both the highest theft claim frequency and the worst overall theft losses, 10 times the average for all vehicles, indicating it's a top target for thieves." Even though the truck comes equipped with an antitheft ignition immobilizer they don't seem to be stopping Escalades from disappearing left and right.

Most Popular Automobile Colors
Take a look around at what people are driving.
Posted 12/15/03

While recently traveling through L.A. I noticed that a majority of the cars were a modest color such as silver, black, dark blue or white. I did some research and found that these are, in fact, THE top five colors of cars sold in North America in the years 2001-2002! These colors represent nearly 80% of cars sold. So if you want to stand out buy a different color of auto. If you would like to blend in and not attract attention here are the colors that you should consider: #1 Silver 2. White Metallic 3. White 4. Med./Dark Blue 5. Black.

Have you ever been to an automotive show and wanted it ALL?. SEMA once again put on a huge display. This years show was spread out over some additional and much needed space. The lifted trucks were absolutely massive. The cars were ultra hot looking and heavily modified for speed as well. One of the most impressive new products at the Sema convention was the new Nissan Titan. The Titan is a heavy hitter with plenty of power and it's stout construction. Ford was also showing off their awesome line of new cars and trucks including the new Lightning sport truck. The award for most impressive custom creation, without a doubt, goes to a yellow Dodge Charger that is equipped with a Dodge Viper V-10 engine and drive train. If that doesn't make you drool, nothing will!! All of this can be seen in the pictures section so DO NOT MISS OUT. Go to the SEMA convention pictures section and take a look at the best sights the SEMA show has to offer!! There are so many pictures that we had to divide them up into different sections.See the whole SEMA Las Vegas convention here.

2003 SEMA CONVENTION!!
Absolutely Overwhelming .
Posted 10/27/03

SEMA is short for the Specialty Equipment Market Association. SEMA is once again sponsoring and organizing the largest gathering of specialty automotive equipment at the Las Vegas Convention Center . Access is restricted to industry professionals and they come from all around the world to show off and deal new and existing products with others. The 2003 SEMA convention is expected to have over 40,000 attendees who will be flooding the 2 million square feet of exhibits. Over 1,100 products related to the car, truck, automotive, RV and marine industry are going to be unveiled at this years show. This is in ADDITION to what will be displayed in an estimated (believe it or not) 8000 booths!! If that isn't enough the vehicles alone are simply amazing. The stats for this years SEMA show are just as amazing as well as record breaking. Read more about the SEMA Las Vegas convention here.

2003 OFF-ROAD EXPO = Great Show!
The show this year was bigger and better.
Posted 10/19/03

Where can you find the biggest product vendors as well as the local machinist showing off his fabrication skills?? The 2003 Off-Road Expo of course! This years show differed from last years show in a very obvious way: it was BIGGER. I was caught off guard with how much the show had grown and I had to pick up the pace in order to spend time at each and every booth there. Camburg and Fabtech were both representing on their home turf as well as the more popular race team Terrible Herbst which decided to pull out all the stops with TONS of equipment including their racing rig. I spotted the first NISSAN TITAN I've seen so far as well as an impressive show of custom rock crawlers. So get ready for some really NICE pictures and head on over to the pictures section!!

Nissan Is Showing Off Their All New Full Size TITAN.
The biggest and most powerful import truck so far.

Toyota has definitely shown how to make trucks comfortable and ultra-reliable. Now Nissan is trying to add to that by showing how TOUGH their new Titan is. The Nissan Frontier 4x4 was reported to have less HP than expected even with the supercharger. The Titan on the other hand has plenty at 305hp and 380lb-ft of torque! Besides having all that power the truck is actually BUILT to take advantage of it. The frame is fully boxed and connected to Dana axles. Inside the Titan you will find large cup holders, mirrors, an optional DVD entertainment system and an optional 10-speaker Rockford Fosgate system. The trucks styling doesn't seem too outrageous considering the competition and even appears more high-tech. Check out all of the details about this new truck at the Titans homepage here. The Titan has a lot of competition but is sure to be popular amongst customers looking for a more modern and powerful full-size.

Ford Is Kicking Things Into Overdrive, No Doubt.
#1 on the Christmas list.
Posted 09/09/03

Ford has definitely stepped things up quite a bit in the past couple of years. With the introduction of the new Thunderbird and the new Cobra you can bet that Ford will soon release the revamped Lightning. If you haven't seen a picture of one yet, take a look at the Ford SVT website right here. Reading into the details the roof line has been dropped to accentuate its short and stout lines. The rims on the concept are 22 inch and the exhaust exits out the side right in front of the rear wheels. I'm not sure what the production model will have under the hood but the concept has an all-aluminum 5.4 DOHC supercharged AND intercooled engine easily pushing 500hp and 500ft. lbs. of torque. Check out the SVT site for more juicy details.

The Show Must Go On!

Memorial Weekend at Pismo Beach, CA.
Camping and off-roading right off the beach!
Posted 06-16-2003

It was a bright and sunny weekend at Pismo for Memorial Day. Convoys of trucks, trailers and campers had made their way to the shoreline from all around the state. The vehicle of choice out in the sand was the four wheeler but everynow and then you could spot a Toyota or even an H2 popping out over the top of a dune. The strip of sand is the only strip of coastline that you can drive on with a vehicle and it attracts hords of motorsport enthusiasts and their best machines. Take a look of some of the action in the *Pictures Section*.
